The ministry has developed a number of funding mechanisms such as young entrepreneurship, female entrepreneurship, building of Industrial Zones, strategy, policies and specifications of the programs for promoting eco-innovation and implementation. The ministry offers the Handicraft service, which is a practice especially effective for eco-innovation support. It also presents high technology, which is friendly to the environment. It applies a sponsorship plan on investing against the industrial pollution. For developing the eco-innovation more, it requires ambitious legislation on environmental protection, free markets, and further enhancement of the institutional innovation. In particular, Cyprus needs strengthening the eco-innovation capabilities of the universities, research institutes and enterprises. As such, the main factors influencing eco-innovation are statute, competitive environment and institutional innovation in the form of research institutes and enterprises. Some of ministry eco-activities are recycling aggregates shredder, vehicles recycling, biological station- water recycling and dust suppression system.
