CAMPING TAHITI (Ferrara and Ravenna, Italy)

TAHITI VILLAGE is a camping bungalow park with thermal center: therefore, it is a SME working in tourist field. The receptive extra-hotel activity is developed since 1968.

ORGANISATION ORIENTATION
The camping vision is to offer a service to customers that can represent the best/top in standards of quality of tourist services. The elements of environmental protection, hygienic-sanitary standards respect, quality are some of the basic elements of the camping vision.
In particular all the activities that determine the offer of Tahiti camping are set up on two exact lines of managerial address: on one hand, the need to find new and satisfactory elements of agreeableness for the guest customers and, on the other hand, to search for the continuous improvement of the offered structures and services.
Guiding principles of the firstly environmental quality allowed the camping having numerous recognitions besides the Legambiente Turismo one: the camping in fact is decorated, over that with the label of Legambiente Turismo, also of other labels and recognitions that refer to environmental quality and tourist services of the receptive structure, allowing therefore to enjoy the highest references in European field.

OBJECTIVES AND GUIDING PRINCIPLES: Connected to Ecological project of Accommodation Facilities
The Camping Bungalow Park TAHITI took part since some years in the Project of Ecological Camp site of Legambiente Turismo. The adhesion to the label of Legambiente Turismo determined the introduction of a range of innovations with effects and impacts on the environment, or a range of shrewdness, in line with the expectations from the disciplinary of Legambiente Turismo, in the field of the above mentioned “Hotels recommended for the defense of environment” initiative.

In brief assumed involvements are extended to the following thematic areas:
Energy and water Installation of devices for the saving of water and reuse of non drinkable water. Water heating systems are since years at solar panels, while boilers are all of last technological generation and at low consumption of gas. Only light bulbs at low energetic consumption and certified electric current by renewable sources are used.

Prevention and waste management Referring to Tahiti village, the separate waste collection is effected for the almost totality of wastes. Separate waste collection, divided in 5 ecological islands, is disposed outside the tourist complex. The diversified harvest concerns also the commercial activities in the camping. Inside only special street sweepers conceived to not issue any particle of dust in the environment are used. Leaves and branches are collected and ground to create a fertilizing natural compost for plants, trees and flowers.

Environmental communication to the guest The guest is sensitized through the informative material supplied by Legambiente and the attention towards noise pollution is recommended. Also the use of the car in the structure is not allowed.

Staff training In the tourist complex, in the respect of the environment, the staff of the camping moves only with electric or foot operated service ways.
